Must I be able to paddle?
No, the seminar is designed for beginners.
Must I be able to swim?
What does white-water have to do with management?
Only at first glance, white water and management have little in common. We consider the white water experience, however, an ideal space to practice typical management situations with a reflection afterwards.
For whom is this seminar appropriate for?
The seminar is suitable for white water beginners. We assume an average level of fitness, you do not need to be very sportive. If in doubt for health reasons, ask your doctor. In the white water part of the seminar it is not about muscles and strength, but about using your own strengths and capabilities to achieve a selected target. Therefore the seminar is suitable as well for women as for men.
Do I need previous knowledge of management?
Background management knowledge by previous courses might be helpful, but are not required.
Is the seminar open only for Business students?
Everybody, who will be in charge of projects, work force, staff, needs management knowledge. Therefore, the course is also recommended for engineering, IT-, law or other students, who are interested in gaining that management knowledge. The participation of different disciplines is also a interdisciplinary benefit for all participants, because we learn about different perspectives.
Do I need my own equipment?
The paddling gear and tents are provided and included in the price; the equipment that participants need to bring is included in a list which will be sent after registration.
Can I stay in a hotel?
We have chosen to stay on a camp site as we are convinced that the transfer of learning is better outside the comfort zone of conventional seminar hotels.
Can I take part if I wear glasses or contact lenses?
If you wear glasses, we recommend using tape or elastic to secure glasses or sports goggles. Contact lense wearers are recommended to wear daily lenses.
Is the course suitable for disabled people?
We are committed to equality of access to our seminars. If you have any disabilities, please consult us and/or your doctor.
Is the course suitable for pregnant women?
We believe that it is in the interest of mother and child, to take extra caution here and would therefore not recommend to taking part in the rough water activities.
And if it rains?
We also paddle in wet weather. In case of unfavorable water levels (high or low water), we keep you updated on any necessary local or schedule changes.
